This week we have an article from Bernadette Navarro on the work of The Parenting Alliance. She writes "Currently, there is no central resource about programs, tools, and resources specifically devoted to positive parenting. A forum for parents, academia and social service providers is also missing in today's communication age. To meet the needs of these disparate groups, a coalition of parents, researchers, social service workers, and other stakeholders formed The Parenting Alliance in 1997. The goal of this growing community is to collaborate on initiatives and to share information, research, programs and tools for practical use by parents." Don't forget to check out the related resources in 241.2.
And, in the spirit of the New Year and new beginnings, here is a brief reminder about the many ways to manage your OHPE subscription.
1. Send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org with a command like this in the body of the message: subscribe (or unsubscribe) email@example.com. You will then receive a message from the OHPE-L list admin asking you to confirm your request by replying with the confirmation number. Once you have done that, you will receive the welcome message.
3. When in doubt, contact the OHPE Bulletin team. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the email address of the person to be added (for our records and reports, it helps immensely if we know the organization and city of the subscriber) and within 24 hours they will be added to the OHPE Bulletin subscriber list.
Subscribers will automatically receive a monthly reminder telling them what all their list.web.net mailing list passwords are and how to unsubscribe.
