The City is ready to welcome the new Seaway Valley Community Health Centre, set to open its doors in early 2009 with a mission to provide healthcare access to underserviced individuals within the community. The brand new 11,500 sq. ft. facility will be a non-profit, community-governed organization that provides primary care, health promotion and community development services. The Centre will employ an inter-disciplinary team of health providers specialized in providing programs and services for those people who have difficulties accessing the full range of appropriate primary healthcare and social services.
The Seaway Valley CHC is currently seeking its inaugural Executive Director to build the organization from the ground up, create the vision and mission for the Centre, and ensure effective linkages with the community and its other service providers. Reporting to a Board of Directors and managing a budget of $2M, the Executive Director will provide overall leadership to the Health Centre, guide its continuing development, and oversee the Centre's strategic planning, operations, program development and external relations.
As the ideal candidate for this role, you are inclusive, collaborative and community-focused with excellent communication skills and a keen political awareness. Your proven relationship building abilities allow you to form long lasting partnerships and work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders, community agencies and healthcare providers. Strategic and visionary, you will provide a vision for the future and rally others to that vision. Ideally you possess five (5) years of progressive management experience in community health or social services. A post-graduate degree in business, public or health administration, human services; or an undergraduate degree with senior management experience is required.
