Management Principles for Public Health Professionals

The Faculty of Professional Education at Concordia University College of Alberta is offering a second session of the 1.5-credit development course ENVH 600: Management Principles for Public Health Professionals.

Course Description:  Students will develop an in-depth understanding of the theory and practice of management skills required as environmental public health professionals and other public health practitioners.  Topics covered include the core key functions of management, planning, organizing, leading and controlling, social responsibility, and managing change.  

Course Dates:  April 6-May 29, 2009 (8 weeks).  

Delivery Mode:  Distance learning, web-based course utilizing the Concordia Course Management System (CCMS)

Instructor:  Richard Ford, PhD

Target Groups:  Environmental public health professionals with CPHI(C) certification or public health practitioners with 2 years work experience in the field.  A diploma or baccalaureate degree from a post-secondary institution is strongly recommended.

Tuition Fee:  $375.00 plus institutional fees ($396 total) and textbook costs.
