Nurse Practitioner, Regent Park Community Health Centre

The Regent Park Community Health Centre is a community-based primary health organization. It provides a mix of medical, nursing, social work, community health, community development, early childhood development, youth support and other services to a diverse community with complex health and social issues in downtown Toronto. We are looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care. The successful candidate will work as part of an excellent multi-disciplinary team of providers.

Salary Range: $72,409 to $87,240 plus Competitive Benefits


As a nurse specialist in Primary Health Care with advanced knowledge and decision-making skills, you will provide primary care to a wide range of low-income people in the Centre and in the local community. This role emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention throughout the client's life span. As a member of a large, highly-skilled, constantly learning interdisciplinary team, you will serve a high density, low-income, multi-cultural, inner city community through a variety of methods including direct patient care, health promotion and education, outreach to marginalized individuals and groups, research, advocacy and community development. As well, you will utilize a broad range of skills and knowledge to serve the wide range of low-income people in our community (e.g. families, seniors and newcomers).


Minimum 2 years' nursing experience within the past five years with at least one of these years in a role using advanced knowledge and decision-making skills in assessment, diagnosis, and health care management, health care systems, determinants of health, and Community Health Centres. Strong clinical skills are required especially in the areas of urban and homeless people, harm reduction, substance use, mental health and community health. Able to take the initiative and work independently and interdependently in an interdisciplinary team, you are willing to work flexible hours including evenings and potentially some weekends. Experience working in multi-cultural, multi-racial, low-income community settings is required as well as CNO Registration, Extended Class.
