Duties & Responsibilities
As an integral member of the Community Access & Mobilization Team, you will plan, develop, implement, and evaluate health promotion initiatives that are responsive to the needs of Peel Region's diverse community in order to effectively meet the Ontario Public Health Standards related to Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, environment, you will provide consultation to staff, community partners and other professionals with a focus on community mobilization. You will also develop recommendations based on analysis of data and results related to program planning, research and evidenced based practice.
Qualifications: * University degree in Health Promotion or related health field * 1-3 years related experience in program development, implementation and evaluation of health and wellness initiatives * familiarity with key theoretical models of health education, health promotion and community development * strong analytical skills to interpret and apply data * excellent social marketing and public relations skills to effectively promote healthy lifestyles to target groups * must have working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Projects, or Microsoft Outlook * access to own transportation and willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
