Hours of Work:  35 hours/week - Monday through Friday\

Duties & Responsibilities:

As an integral member of the Community Access & Mobilization Team, you will plan, develop, implement, and evaluate health promotion initiatives that are responsive to the needs of Peel Region's diverse community in order to effectively meet the Ontario Public Health Standards related to Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention.  Specifically you will be supporting programs and strategies to promote healthy eating in the community. You will also collaborate with other divisional teams to develop and implement strategies and activities promoting healthy eating.


  * Bachelor of Science Degree specializing in food and nutrition or equivalent  * completion of an accredited dietetic internship * current permanent general registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario * minimum 1 year experience in community or public health nutrition * excellent communications (both verbal and written)  * experience and skills in adult education and working with volunteers would be valuable * strong leadership skills, problem solving skills and a customer service focus are essential * computer skills in Ms Office, including Word and PowerPoint * knowledge of Peel's diverse and multicultural communities * demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team * able to travel to various regional locations and a willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
