Supporting the ministry’s multiple and high-profile provincewide strategic initiatives and other project management functions from concept to implementation, you will lead, develop and manage the ministry project management function, including standards, methodologies, tools and systems within a policy, program design and cross-functional environment. You will manage the provision of project management leadership, expertise and coordination, the planning, mobilization and scoping of resources and working groups, and the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of ministry project activities to report on performance, and identify and mitigate risks. You will also lead appropriate synthesis, coordination, integration and alignment of various projects to facilitate corporate requirements.
Additional qualifications: demonstrated project management expertise and leadership skills in the development and use of project management standards, methodologies, tools and systems within a high-profile, multiple project policy and program environment; understanding of project management best practices and innovative thinking and skills to build capacity, promote project efficiency and manage risks for successful outcomes; exceptional interpersonal skills and team-building skills.
Plan and manage concurrent project teams, often led by, and/or consisting of internal and external subject matter experts, representatives from other ministries and partners, and dedicated ministry project resources with responsibility for leading the conceptualization, design and development of health promotion program frameworks to support major provincial heath promotion strategic initiatives and approved policies. You will manage the development of program design and implementation strategies, and the monitoring and evaluation of multi-year project initiatives to ensure accountability for program adjustments and redesign.
Additional qualifications: demonstrated knowledge of, and expertise in program design, development and implementation, and the life cycle management of policy/strategies within a large, multi-project environment; superior skills in successfully planning, leading and managing multiple project teams within a strategic policy environment; knowledge of accountability and governance methodologies, principles and guidelines, and skills to manage the monitoring and evaluation of program frameworks and programs.
