The CBS program is a McMaster University, Health Sciences, Post Professional Diploma Program. The courses are taught by Faculty from the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences as they are offered in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The Faculty are experienced clinicians with expertise in providing advanced training to professionals looking to enhance their skills.
The CBS program has a variety of courses offered in the following areas: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Applied Behavioural Analysis and Therapy (focus on Child & Adolescent), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Community Health, Clinical Supervision, Family Therapy (Family Assessment), Geriatric Mental Health, Group Studies, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Organizational Studies, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Selected Studies in Acquired Brain Injury. New courses continue to be designed to meet the demands of our students.
The program is designed for professionals who are working in the human services field. Courses are developed for adult learners and have an interprofessional small group approach. The program will enhance your knowledge and skills and will provide you with the current clinical skills you need. The emphasis of the program is not on new credentials or accreditation but on enhanced knowledge and skills. Students have the option of taking selected courses or may wish to complete the Diploma.
