In this position you will contribute to the work of the Health Council of Canada by retrieving, assessing, and synthesizing complex health policy issues.
You will work inter-dependently with our team of analysts and other members of the Secretariat and Council Committees. Externally, you will build working relationships with members of relevant pan-Canadian groups and others in order to develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of health policy, practice, emerging issues and legislation, and to consult on health policy related issues.
Your graduate degree in health policy, political science, economics, or public administration is complemented by at least three to five years of related government experience.
Demonstrated skills in the retrieval, assessment, and synthesis of complex research findings from scientific and policy related literature and other lines of evidence is a must. Strong leadership and a demonstrated ability to work in interdisciplinary teams will also ensure your success. In addition, you possess strong communications and interpersonal skills along with the ability to articulate both research findings and policy objectives in plain language. Ideally you are fluent in both official languages.
You must have experience and interest in communicating with Canadians and professional audiences about health care issues and be comfortable liaising with member governments.
