CMHA, Ontario, is a provincial association, committed to improving services and support for individuals with mental illness and to the promotion of mental health in Ontario.
We are seeking an experienced individual to serve as our mental health promotion specialist, investigating trends and opportunities, piloting new roles and recommending options for CMHA Ontario to contribute to the advancement of mental health promotion in Ontario.
You will identify trends and policy directions; and consult with communities, networks and other stakeholders to identify gaps and resource needs which CMHA Ontario could address to advance the promotion of mental health in Ontario. You will participate in provincial initiatives to promote mental health, in order to pilot and evaluate new roles that the organization may wish to sustain. You will also contribute to the preparation of briefs and submissions to inform the Ontario agenda on healthy communities and mental health promotion.
We are seeking an individual with graduate level training in health promotion, or related field. Familiarity with mental health issues and mental health promotion, preferred. Experience in social marketing, program planning and contributing to healthy public policy. Experience developing and evaluating health promotion resources. Experience working in multi-sectoral partnerships; and liaising with non-governmental organizations and government agencies and knowledge of the public policy environment in Ontario.

This is a negotiable 3 to 5 day per week contract position until March 31, 2010. Secondments will be considered.
