Health Services – Chronic Disease & Injury Prevention
As an active member of the Community Access Mobilization team, you will review evidence and provincial and national guidelines to prepare briefings, position statements, and recommendations for nutrition related public health practice. You will develop, implement, evaluate and support public policies and programs with the goal of influencing healthy eating environments and positive eating behaviors for Peel residents (i.e. children, youth, and adults.). You will also collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, and with divisional/departmental colleagues, applying health promotion principles and best practice strategies to plan, develop, implement and evaluate policies, practices, resources and programs related to healthy eating promotion for the public and particular vulnerable and high risk populations. Other responsibilities include consulting with key stakeholders, the public, staff, community agencies and partners and other professionals in order to effectively meet Ontario Public Health Standards; collaborating with others to proactively identify issues related to nutrition, and providing evidence-informed analysis and recommendations to influence strategic initiatives and policy development.
