October 24 and 25, 2009
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and what better way to get involved than to explore prevention!!
Come and join the women of the Women’s Healthy Environments Network for a few evenings of discussion and social change for the prevention of breast cancer.
Exposure: Environmental Links to Breast Cancer is an award winning documentary (Best Health Documentary - New York International Independent Film Festival, 2001) was conceived in response to the growing public debate about the implications of our contaminated world. Today one in three people will get cancer. One in four will die from it. In the 1950s, women in industrialised countries were at a one in twenty risk of developing breast cancer over their lifetime. Today that risk has skyrocketed to one in eight.
