Position: Project Coordinator
Location: Our beautiful office space located at 215 Spadina Avenue

Start Date: ASAP Salary: $30,000/year + 2 weeks paid vacation. 40 hours/week. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary.Contract will be for 18 months.
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Project Coordinator for our Ontario 36: Engaging Communities for a Healthier Ontario Project funded by the Ministry of Health Promotion's Healthy Communities Fund. Under the Supervision of the Director and Executive Director, the Coordinator will develop, and implement various project activities including Community-led Action Plans, Community Engagement Days, and Expert Information Sessions, in 36 communities across the province. The position includes travel across the province leading workshops and community-led participation processes on walking, cycling, public spaces and their contribution to creating more liveable, people-oriented cities. The Coordinator will also have access to and involvement with Walk and Bike for Life's national and international projects where there is interest and need.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable liaising with a diversity of project partners including municipal decision makers and staff, local community groups, public health officials, local environmental groups, cycling and trails groups, local business community, local schools and school boards, and any other interested stakeholder groups across the province. This position includes public speaking and group facilitation so experience in this field is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge and/or experience in the field of Urban Planning, Environmental Studies, Communications, Community Development, Public Health, Management, Geography, or related field.
- Comfortable working as a team and independently
- Passion for creating more liveable, people-oriented cities!
