In The Mind's Eye 2009: Issues of Substance Use in Film + Forum Opening Event

Kitchener, Ontario
November 3, 2009

7:00 p.m.
Kitchener Waterloo Collegiate & Vocational School, 787 King Street West

In The Mind's Eye 2009 -- fifteen free film and forum events throughout November in Waterloo region -- opens  with Rick Osbourne and "A Journey through Addiction, Crime and Prison."

Join us for an informal evening with Rick Osborne. A fantastic opportunity to meet someone who has been there, done that and lived to tell the tale.

At 14 he was a drug addict, at 16 a street gang member, at 17 an outlaw biker and, at 21, a federal convict. Rick spent 24 years of his life in prison and, at 46, left prison for the last time. Now, he spends his time speaking to youth about the dangers of drugs, gangs and prisons, as well as about the destructiveness of today’s youth gang culture. Rick Osborne is an engaging speaker who leads interactive assemblies discussing youth gangs and drug use. He is uniquely qualified with a B.A in Psychology and an Addiction Careworker Diploma combined with his remarkable life experience.
