Wellesley Institute, Centre for Community Based Research and the Toronto Community Based Research Network are pleased to co-host a forum on the topic of ethics in community bases research.
For over a year the Wellesley Institute and the Centre for Community Based Research have been collaborating on research exploring ethics in community based research. The study is called Ethics in Community Based Research – Needs Assessment and Feasibility Study.
The Toronto Community Based Research Network forum over a year and half ago identified ethics and community based research as an area of interest. The Wellesley Institute partnered with the Centre for Community Based Research (Kitchener/Waterloo) developed a research project that fills this knowledge gap.
Join us to reflect and discuss:
- Ethics in Community Based Research – Needs Assessment and Feasibility Study Preliminary Findings--The findings clarify the need for a community based research ethics process in Waterloo Region, Toronto and beyond, by identifying and understanding issues and concerns from multiple stakeholder perspectives, and then to determine an appropriate and feasible response that will facilitate ethically sound community based research.
- 2 Group discussion--In the second half of the workshop you will have the opportunity to join small groups to discuss and reflect upon the findings. At the end of the session we will collectively have provided feedback on what you see the next steps and recommendations should be.
Mark your calendars and be sure to join us on December 18th! Light refreshments will be provided.
RSVP to Katherine Seiter at Katherine@wellesleyinstitute.com or (416)-972-1010 x225 by December 10th.
