The Middlesex-London Health Unit has an exciting temporary opportunity for a full-time Registered Dietitian to work under the direction of the Manager of the Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention team.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the planning, implementation and evaluation of community-based programs and services. Population health principles will be applied to develop resources and deliver programs on assigned topical areas. Other duties include: the delivery of nutrition services including counseling, consultation and education to the public and professionals in the community and within the health unit, working collaboratively with community members, professionals and organizations to promote and implement healthy eating and nutrition, and selecting, developing, revising and evaluating nutrition education resources.
Qualified candidates have graduated from a 4-year recognized university program in foods and nutrition, and completed an accredited internship with a community nutrition focus. Candidates must have current registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario, along with knowledge and skills in health promotion strategies. Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills are necessary, as well as very good organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work well with others. Experience with Microsoft Office is essential. Flexible work hours are required, along with a valid Ontario driver’s licence and own transportation. The ability to communicate in French and other languages would be considered an asset.
