Description: 
This presentation will share findings from the Migration and Diabetes Project, a study of risk factors, self-management and health care experiences among newcomers to Canada. Participants with and without diabetes were interviewed in their own language from five different groups: Bangladeshi, Mandarin-speaking Chinese, Pakistani, Sri Lankan Tamil, and Canadian-born.  Focus groups with healthcare providers were also conducted to learn about the challenges of providing diabetes care to newcomer communities.
