Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Term: Full time permanent position with six month probationary period

The mission of OHCC is to create innovative solutions to meet community challenges and build strong, equitable and sustainable communities through education, engagement and collaboration. The primary function of the OHCC Service Coordinator is to coordinate the services of OHCC and provide a “one window” point of access for the Healthy Communities Consortium, of which OHCC is a member. The Consortium is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion to provide services and supports to groups working with the Ministry’s Healthy Communities framework.

Primary duties include:

  • Provide information about OHCC and the Consortium and their services
  • Receive and assess requests for services; refer to appropriate personnel and provide follow up
  • Provide brief consultations to clients as appropriate during the intake process
  • Liaise with Consortium members and other health promotion agencies
  • Distribute educational resources and materials
  • Assist with needs assessment and evaluation
  • Plan, organize and provide technical support for webinars
  • Monitor and update content for the French and English OHCC and Consortium web sites
  • Liaise as needed with consultants and vendors to fulfill the OHCC Communications Strategy
  • Produce a monthly e-bulletin and annual report
  • Manage membership services and membership renewal
  • Assist with service and communications planning
  • Recommend policy
  • Maintain contacts databases and announcement lists
  • Maintain service tracking database and track service statistics

Qualifications Required

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French and English
  • Relevant experience in health promotion, community development or other related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Strong co-ordination, organization and planning skills
  • Ability to handle responsibility and work independently
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • Ability to function as part of a team in a flexible, productive environment of continuous learning
  • Understanding of Healthy Communities principles and processes
