Deadline September 22, 2010
Contract for Services, 2010-1
In May 2009, the Ministry of Health Promotion and Sport launched the Healthy Communities Framework, an integrated approach to improving the health of Ontarians focusing on six risk factor areas (physical activity, sport and recreation; injury prevention; healthy eating; tobacco use/exposure; substance and alcohol misuse; and mental health). The goal of the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Healthy Communities Partnership (WDGHCP) is to help our community foster and develop policies that make the healthy choice, the easy choice. We will build on current local partnerships and coordination structures to create a shared vision, identify priorities, develop partnerships and create and implement healthy public policy.
To inform the priority setting process described above, the WDGCHP is hiring a qualitative data analyst on a fee for service basis. The qualitative data analyst, in partnership with a multidisciplinary team, will prepare a community picture of health indicators and community trends in each of the six risk factor areas, layering qualitative and quantitative data as well as identifying priority populations. The community pictures will provide a comprehensive profile of each community (Wellington County, Dufferin County and the City of Guelph), including demographic make-up, health status data, current initiatives and policies that impact health and well-being in Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph(WDG). The community pictures will also consider broader social, economic, political and environmental contexts affecting WDG community health needs.
