Public Health Dietitian, Brant County Health Unit

The public health dietitian is responsible for the provision of human nutrition service that promotes healthy eating/healthy weights and a healthy lifestyle.  The incumbent will function as part of a multi-disciplinary team planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs and services.  Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, health promotion, needs assessment, community presentations, literature reviews, and advocacy.

Requirements:  Current membership with the College of Dietitians of Ontario, degree in human nutrition (Masters preferred), completion of a one year accredited dietetic internship, two years public health experience, complimented with applied knowledge and experience with the principles of health promotion; effective communication and public relations skills; demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills and proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting. Membership with the Dietitians of Canada is an asset. Valid Ontario driver’s license and the use of a vehicle required.

Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures and the ONA General Collective Agreement including:

Salary range:  $32.21- 37.89 per hour; Comprehensive benefit package, Full-time hours are 70 hours in a two week period (ONA Allied Collective Agreement).
