Temporary Full-Time Contract to December 2011
As an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team, your assignment may include planning, implementing, and evaluating population based health promotion activities including project co-ordination, policy development and support, mass media and communication campaigns, liaise and collaborate with community partners, schools and workplaces, and develop health information resources, i.e., newsletters, brochures, displays; establishing and maintaining relationships with community partners and participating on formal and informal committees, networks and encouraging community initiated programs and services as appropriate..
Education and Experience: a Masters degree in health promotion, or related discipline, knowledge and experience in the areas of chronic disease prevention is required, complimented by knowledge, skills and experience in project management, research, partnership development, community assessment (i.e., needs assessment, situational assessment), behaviour change theory and mass media communication. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills; analytical and problem-solving skills; team working skills; group facilitation skills; advanced computer skills, and a current Ontario driver’s license and use of a vehicle. Research experience would be an asset.
Salary range: $32.21- 37.89 per hour; Full-time hours are 70 hours in a two week period (ONA Allied Collective Agreement)
