Initial assignment will be focused on the Ministry of Health Promotion and Sport (MHPS), Youth Engagement Program leading and co-ordinating Smoke-Free Ontario-funded youth programs. In your role, you will ensure that the MHPS Youth Engagement guiding principles are communicated to both internal and external stakeholders. You will provide program leadership, co-ordination and collaboration internally and externally with respect to tobacco control and the reduction of tobacco use and other highly correlated risk factors, as they relate to chronic diseases. Supervise a multidisciplinary team of professionals and Youth Engagement Program volunteers.
Education and Experience:
The preferred candidate will have a Master’s in a specialty relevant to the job description, e.g., social work, community development; proven leadership, team building and highly effective communication and problem-solving skills; experience in a health services setting, preferably in public health, working within a multidisciplinary team leading the development, implementation and evaluation of programs; demonstrated ability to engage youth and young adults; initiate and model positive change. Must be able to work flexible hours e.g., afternoons, evenings and some weekends to reach target population. A valid Ontario driver’s license and the use of a reliable motor vehicle required.
The position offers a salary range of $71,292–82,602 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
