Research Analyst II
Initial Assignment: Policy, Education and Health Promotion
CAMH is engaged in supporting the Ministry of Health Promotion’s Health Communities approach, and provides ongoing empirical and analytical capacity to this initiative as it relates to mental health and addictions. The Health Promotion Unit at CAMH is seeking a consultant to participate in and provide support to this work. This position will be a key resource in the collection, collation and reporting of research and information to internal and external partners. The position is located at 33 Russell Street in Toronto and may involve some travel within the GTA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide information on evidence-based, best practice programming in order to facilitate delivery of effective mental health and substance use health promotion and prevention programming at local, regional and provincial levels
- Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans, evaluations and other research processes as needed
- Support knowledge transfer activities being undertaken by the Ministry’s partners and stakeholders with respect to the Healthy Communities Fund
- Support and maintain collaborative partnerships as required
- Provide support to other staff in maintaining CAMH’s strategic partnership with the Ministry of Health Promotion
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in health promotion or a related discipline, and a minimum of 3 years experience working in the health promotion field. Experience with basic data analysis, literature reviews and environmental scans is required. Established knowledge transfer skills—including report writing and presentations—are essential, as are excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven time management skills (including managing multiple projects with difficult and/or competing deadlines) are a valued asset. The candidate should be able to demonstrate critical thinking skills and have a secure knowledge of health promotion principles and practices. Familiarity with mental health and addictions issues is required, and professional experience in this area is preferred. Demonstrated commitment to principles of equity, inclusivity, respect and cultural competence is required. Bilingualism (French/ English) is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $25.80 to $34.81 per hour
