Director, Academic Health Council, Champlain Region

Candidates for the position of Director should hold a Master’s or a PhD degree with an emphasis in education and a health professional background. They should have an excellent understanding of the operation of post secondary institutions.

Candidates should possess a record of excellence in research and evaluation in the education of health professionals which should include evidence of a history of peer reviewed grants and/or publications. They should be at a phase in their career where management and leadership activities are as of primary importance and coupled with ongoing research activities, and demonstrate a strong record of effectiveness in administration and operations in a collaborative environment.

The Director will have strong interpersonal skills and effective leadership attributes evidenced through a record of successful collaborative planning with strong interprofessional content. This should also be supported by effective team building  experiences.

Knowledge of the Region’s health systems is viewed as a strong asset. The ability to effectively communicate in English and French is essential.

This is a 2 year mandate reporting directly to the AHC Board. Compensation will be negotiated commensurate with candidate status and experience.
