The Manager Program Development is a new position at CADTH. You and your team will be responsible for ensuring CADTH’s research work remains clearly focused on our customers and their requirements.
You’ll head a team each with responsibility for one or more thematic areas - including diabetes, cardiovascular, mental health, thoracic, infectious disease and emerging issues. You and your team will develop and define deliverables for our customers in these theme areas and ensure the focus of the research remains on the customer throughout. You’ll create long term strategies while at the same time manage project timelines and maintain quality standards. Your ability to create and maintain relationships with our stakeholders are key to your success and to the success of your team. You thrive best in an environment where the work is highly collaborative, where meeting customer needs is top priority, where you can work closely with our advisory committees, and interface daily with colleagues across the organization to support CADTH priorities and deliverables.
As the successful candidate, you have a graduate degree in a health related discipline plus at least 6 years of relevant experience, including some management experience, in the health sector or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need broad knowledge and experience in research methods and an understanding of health technologies and health technology assessment (drug and non-drug). You have experience developing protocol and formulating research questions. You’ll be tasked to come up with ways to maximize the uptake/impact of evidence based information in the Canadian health sector. You have a thorough understanding of the Canadian healthcare system and knowledge of the decision-making processes within the F/P/T’s. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities. You have excellent oral and written communications skills and relationship building skills along with the ability to work and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and understand their diverse interests. Along with your strong customer service orientation and attitude, you have demonstrated leadership skills to lead and manage the work of a multidisciplinary team and the flexibility and versatility to operate in a highly collaborative work environment.
