Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario's National Smoking Cessation Initiative

In 2010, the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) launched an exciting National Smoking Cessation Initiative aimed at building national nursing capacity to integrate evidence-based smoking cessation strategies into daily practice.

To-date, this Initiative, funded by the Health Canada Federal Tobacco Control Strategy, has built a strong and thriving network of over 540 nurses and other  health care professionals across Canada as "Smoking Cessation Champions" who work within their organizations to implement, and promote the implementation and adoption of  smoking cessation best practices.

We are thrilled to share some of the valuable resources, activities and opportunities available to nurses and health care professionals nationwide, including:

  • New resources and publications
  • Online ccmmunity
  • Educational and networking opportunities
  • Multimedia and online engagement
