The Medical Officer of Health of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit oversees a wide variety of community, regional and provincial initiatives designed to promote and protect public health. Strategic direction, quality management, collaboration, team building and empowerment are major features of this role.
We are seeking a talented and experienced leader with highly developed interpersonal skills who understands the public health landscape in Canada. You have the ability to positively and effectively work with legislative bodies and lead and manage staff to create an engaged health-care culture. Strong communication skills are a must. The successful candidate will be licensed to practice medicine in Ontario, have a Fellowship in Community Medicine, or a Masters Degree in Public Health or equivalent. Consideration will be given to candidates who are willing to acquire the above qualifications.
