10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Registration is free.
The Sister II Sister Preventing Elder Abuse forum will be an opportunity for service providers and newcomer seniors to discuss their experiences, learnings and recommendations on preventing elder abuse for newcomers. The forum will also be the culmination of the Sister II Sister seniors leadership training project, whereby newcomer
senior women act as agents of change to challenge elder abuse in their own neighborhoods.
We will finish the day by inviting members of the community to sign the Senior's Rights Charter - to reaffirm the skills, capacities, and energy that seniors bring to all levels of society.
Come and hear dynamic speakers share their stories, discuss best practices in prevention, practice women's self-defense and attend a legal rights workshop.
