Parks and Recreation Ontario, in partnership with the Town of Ajax (June 1st) and the City of Waterloo (June 2nd) is pleased to offer a two-part workshop on “Positioning Parks and Recreation” with John Crompton, Distinguished Professor, Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences at Texas A&M University.

  • Part 1: Positioning Parks and Recreation Services to Add Economic Value to Communities: Explore the contemporary expansion of the parks and recreation mission from meeting the needs of particular user groups to delivering economic, environmental and social benefits to the whole community.
  • Part 2: Affordable and Appropriate Pricing of Recreation Services: The concept of internal reference pricing will be explained and 11 strategies for minimizing resistance to price increases will be discussed. In addition learn how to better understand how to approach pricing and create a process that works best for your community.

These workshops have been designed to allow you to attend either a half day session or both sessions for the full day (lunch included with full day registrations).
