Women in Mind – A Conference on Women’s Mental Health

Women in Mind will bring together leading researchers and practitioners for Ottawa’s first academic conference devoted to women’s mental health.  Issues in women’s mental health will be explored from both the medical and social perspectives.  The Conference will be of interested to a diversity of health care providers, including physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other mental health care professionals.

Speakers:
Dr. Pauline M. Maki, keynote speaker and will address the effects of estrogen on cognition
Dr. Claudio Soares will present on research on Mood and Perimenopause
Dr. Dennis Raphael will speak on the Social Determinants of Women’s Mental Health
Dr. Valerie Taylor will discuss Mental Illness and Medical Comorbidity in Women
Dr. Catherine Shea on Women, Aging and Mental Illness
Dr. Jasmine Ghandi on When the Bough Breaks:  Mental Illness in the Pregnant and Postpartum Woman
