We are seeking an experienced municipal leader and public health professional to provide high level strategic leadership, in the priorities and activities of Ontario’s public health system as they affect community health in Niagara, as well as Niagara Emergency Medical Services. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, and as a member of the Corporate Management Team, you will build and sustain internal and external networks, effective teams, alliances and partnerships to gain results that enhance the quality of life for citizens, communities and stakeholders of Niagara. You will be responsible for managing the Public Health Department in its statutory, operational, custodial and advisory responsibilities, in accordance with the directions of the Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario, the policies established by Regional Council/Board of Health and the administrative directions set by the Chief Administrative Officer.
The successful candidate will be licensed to practice medicine in Ontario, have a Fellowship in Community Medicine or in a related specialty from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as well as a post-graduate certificate, diploma or degree in Public Health.
