August 30 or September 8, 2011
Have your say in shaping the design and functionality of a web-based platform to support public health practice!
Public health stakeholders are invited to participate in one of two focus group consultations scheduled on
- August 30th, 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. or
- September 8th, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
The purpose is to discuss and gather feedback on the new Inventory of Public Health Activities and Peer Expertise. Focus groups will be conducted via webinar/teleconference.
Since February 2011, The Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA) and the Association of Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa) have been engaged in a project with Public Health Ontario (PHO, formerly the Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion) to inform the design and implementation of an Inventory of Ontario Public Health Activities and Peer Expertise ("The Inventory").
The Inventory is one component of PHO’s new web-based knowledge exchange strategy.
It is intended to help public health professionals to easily identify who is doing what in public health and to find colleagues with expertise in specific content areas.
To date, a data collection tool to collect information about current public health activities has been developed and piloted. Province-wide data collection will occur later this month.
