Make your impact and contribution in Public Health at the Middlesex-London Health Unit as the Manager of the Environmental Health Team who will provide operational and strategic leadership to a team of a Public Health Inspectors. The team responsibilities include a wide range of Environmental Health services, with an emphasis on the Safe Water Program.
 
Reporting to the Director of Environmental Health and Chronic Disease Prevention Services (EHCDP), the Manager will plan, implement and evaluate the Environmental Health Program.  In addition to ensuring operational plans are developed, implemented and evaluated, this role calls for creative review and design of new initiatives.  The Manager will collaborate and consult with community committees, agencies and groups to promote cooperation and develop public health programming.  As well, the Manager will conduct and participate in research initiatives in the community and present information related to environmental health to community members and groups.
 
As a member of the EHCDP Leadership Team and the Agency Management group, the Manager is a vital participant in the development of agency strategic direction, as well as the development and implementation of operational plans to meet the agency mission.  With approximately 25 professional staff on the team, the Manager utilizes extensive human resource
skills in maintaining a vibrant professional workforce.  The Manager also monitors budgets and schedules for all related programs carried out by the team.   
 
Candidates for the Manager position will have a B.Sc. Applied Sciences (Environmental Health) and CIPHI certification as well as several years of experience working in public health inspection. Thorough knowledge of applicable legislation, policies and standards, experience in program development and evaluation, excellent communication skills, and good computer skills
are also required.  Preference will be given to those applicants with a Masters in Public Health or related discipline, and experience working with the Hedgehog public health inspection software program.  The ability to communicate in French or other languages would be considered an asset.
