Hastings & Prince Edward Counties Health Unit serves the County of Prince Edward, Hastings County, Quinte West, and Belleville, Ontario from offices in Trenton, Picton, Madoc, Bancroft and Belleville. Our Health Unit provides dozens of programs and services, along with reliable health information to a population of approximately 150,000 people in our 7,000 square km catchment area. Hastings & Prince Edward Counties Health Unit has an immediate opening for a Director of Administration. This position directs the administrative operations of the Health Unit and is responsible for the support of all departments in finance and audit, facilities, human resources, information technology, labour relations and supplier management.
We are looking for a strategic, proven leader to join our senior staff to jointly direct the overall operations of the Health Unit. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or commerce. A Masters degree in a relevant discipline and/or a professional accounting designation would be an asset. A minimum of three years management experience that includes experience managing the finance, human resources and labour relations functions, ideally in a unionized health related or public sector environment. The ability to plan, organize, analyse, interpret, delegate and problem solve is essential as are strong resource (human, financial, information) and change management skills. A result focused orientation coupled with a solid understanding of accounting, audit and budgeting principles, labour and employment legislation and a general understanding of the provincial public health framework and legislation will help ensure success in the role.
The position provides a generous benefits and vacation package and the remuneration band range is between $106,375 and $124,426.
