Vancouver Community College (VCC) is one of the most successful and longest serving colleges in Vancouver. With an annual budget of over $100 million, VCC has 26,000 students, two urban campuses, three dozen satellite locations, 150 programs, and employs 1,370 people. With the appointment of a new President, the College is entering an exciting phase of repositioning and transformation. VCC is a leader in training British Columbians for careers in health offering a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing and is the only public college in BC to offer certain health programs such as medical lab tech and dental lab tech.
As Dean, Health Sciences, you report to the VP Education & Student Services, and as a member of the College Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership to all aspects of the School including strategic planning, academic development, and administration. Develop new and market driven programs that meet the needs of both students and tomorrow’s employers. Act as a major liaison between the College and its many partners.
The ideal candidate is in an academic leadership role delivering health science programs. Alternatively you are a Masters qualified senior healthcare professional with an administrative leadership background in nursing, lab, pharmacy, OT/PT or a provincial program. Entrepreneurial and innovative, you bring a vision to develop industry partners and government linkages that will increase the profile, quality and variety of programs.
