Matthew Seeger will provide an overview of crisis communication in public health, including classifications of conditions of crisis, crisis types and stages of crisis. He will then speak about the anticipated release of an update to the Centers for Disease Control’s Crisis and Emergency Risk Communication (CERC2) training materials and programs. He will next review how social media are effecting risk communications, and offer practical advice on how organizations can engage in social media. Finally, he will highlight 10 best practices in risk communication that emerged from an expert panel process.
