January 19, 2012
Registration is now available for The Sandbox Project’s annual conference!
The conference is being held on Thursday, January 19th 2012 at TELUS House in Toronto. The day will begin at 8:00 am with a networking breakfast and end with a networking reception commencing at 5:00 pm. Breakfast, luncheon and refreshment breaks will be provided. The Sandbox Project’s Annual Conference brings together current and future academics, industry, not-for-profit and government leaders to work together to address matters of health for children and youth. The morning sessions will feature expert speakers who will provide unique perspectives to attendees and stimulate valuable and engaging discussion in our breakout sessions under the themes of Healthy Weights, Injury Prevention, a Healthy Environment and Mental Health.
At lunch, Dr. Anne Snowdon will release a discussion paper “Strengthening Communities for Canadian Children with Disabilities”. In the afternoon, conference attendees will choose between the in-depth “Strengthening Communities for Canadian Children with Disabilities” workshop exploring the recommendations arising from this HRSDC funded study in more detail, OR an interactive session where we share examples of best practices in child and youth health. The afternoon will end with a report back from the working group co-chairs on directions forward and a networking reception.
The conference is aimed at decision-makers, researchers, opinion leaders, parents and youth. On Wednesday, January 18th, the day before the conference, The Sandbox Project has access to meeting and networking space at TELUS House for anyone interested. This is a great opportunity to schedule working group meetings, proposal writing workshops, project update sessions or any other meetings related to The Sandbox Project and kid’s health. Please contact Scott Watson at email@example.com or (416) 554-2610 to make arrangements for meeting space. Let’s all play in the Sandbox!
