Registered Dietitian – (2 Required)

  • Permanent Full-time – Chronic Disease & Injury Prevention (Lifestyles)
  • Temporary Full-Time (12-18 mths) – Family Health Target Population 0 to 6 years

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Registered Dietitian is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team. The Registered Dietitian applies their nutrition expertise in determinants of health, health promotion and community development to support programming under the Mandatory Health Programs and Services Guidelines, the Health Protection and Promotion Act and in keeping with the relevant requirements under the, policies of the Corporation and approved budget. The Registered Dietitian identifies nutrition program priorities by reviewing existing epidemiological, behavioural and socio-demographic data, and thorough assessments of community assets and needs.  The Registered Dietitian maintains current knowledge of the nutrition literature and best practices and critically appraises research to assist with setting priorities, targeting programs and developing public health strategies and policies for promoting nutritional health. Nutrition program activities include healthy eating, healthy weights and food security in a variety of sites (e.g., workplaces, grocery stores, homes, community sites) and to a variety of groups (e.g., health professionals, new parents, etc).


  • A baccalaureate degree in Foods and Nutrition or equivalent program from a recognized university
  • Completion of a one-year accredited dietetic internship is required.  
  • Membership with the College of Dietitians of Ontario

Two years of related experience in community nutrition.

  • Must possess experience in community needs assessment, multi-channel/media strategies, program planning/evaluation and healthy public policy development.
  • Successful candidates must have a valid Driver’s license and able to travel throughout Niagara

Salary range: $ 27.60 - $ 34.15 per hour Job Opening #8500 and #8501

This position has an additional 'market adjustment' of an additional $1.80/hr above the posted rates as per the Collective Agreement.
