The South East Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is one of 14 local entities designed to plan, integrate and fund local health services, including hospitals, community care access centres, community health centres, long-term care homes, mental health and addiction programs and a variety of community support services agencies within specific geographic areas.
The South East LHIN is home to close to 500,000 people. It has a sizeable rural population with 44% of its residents living in communities of fewer than 10,000 people. One-quarter of the South East population resides in Kingston.
In this senior role, you will be part of a team responsible for planning, integration, and stakeholder consultation to further the mandate of the South East LHIN.
Reporting to the Director, Health System Design and in collaboration with team members, you will identify opportunities for health service integration and implement improvement initiatives and strategies to promote efficiencies in driving to a high quality system and improved patient access and outcomes.
This position requires you to provide local leadership and work in cooperation with SE LHIN teams to plan, implement and manage integration projects and monitor and evaluate the outcomes of the health system initiatives.
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in health administration, health planning, public/business administration or relevant field and display a strong understanding of the Ontario health care system, its stakeholders, programs and issues. They will have an understanding of local health issues, demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strategic relationships with the community and stakeholders. This position requires someone with demonstrated understanding of government process (i.e. MOHLTC) and hands on experience with applying and implementing planning models and change management approaches. Proficiency in French is an asset.
