Applying Theory: Social Cognitive Theory, Public Health Ontario

This webinar will introduce participants to social cognitive theory and provide tips on how to apply the theory in their planning and evaluation work. Additionally, an overview of social cognitive theory, the constructs within the theory, and tips on applying theory to program planning and evaluation will be presented. The Colour It Up! Go for More Vegetables and Fruit program will be used as an example to illustrate the application of social cognitive theory to program planning and evaluation.
Learning objectives

  • Identify the key elements of the Social Cognitive Theory and be able to explain them.
  • Understand the application of the theory to the Colour it up intervention and evaluation design.
  • Reflect on how this theory can be applied to the work of webinar participants.
  • Know how to access our products and services to support the work of webinar participants.
