Position: Smoke-Free Ontario Coordinator (Competition # 2013-52)
Location: Public Health and Emergency Services Department
Employment Status: Temporary Full-time – up to one year
Reporting To: Manager of Health Promotion
Union Affiliation: CUPE Union
Wage Range: $34.57/hr. - $41.17/hr.

Position Summary:

The Smoke-Free Ontario Coordinator will lead Smoke-Free funded programs and provide coordination and integration of tobacco control activities with other relevant public health unit programs including: injury prevention, chronic disease/heart health initiatives, substance abuse programs, and prevention of Low Birth Weight babies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a health related area (needs to have included health promotion courses) from a recognized institution is required (Masters Degree is preferred); Experience in project coordination/supervision is required. Recent public health experience is an asset; excellent working skills/knowledge of current computer applications; excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with strong facilitation, project management and organizational skills; priority setting, time management and creative problem solving; a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle with insurance is a requirement; Tobacco Enforcement Officer designation (or willingness to be trained).
