The Canadian Breast Cancer Network is excited to share the report, "Metastatic Breast Cancer in Canada: The lived experience of patients and caregivers" launched today in partnership with Rethink Breast Cancer. This report highlights the realities and challenges affecting Canadian women living with metastatic breast cancer as identified by those of you who completed our 2012 national survey. Thank you for sharing your personal experience, we hope that this will help raise awareness around your unique needs and will help increase access to new therapies, support and information.
This report shares the often unrecognized experiences of metastatic breast cancer patients and caregivers by highlighting the impact on their quality of life, access to treatment, support services and new therapies, as well as financial constraints that can accompany this disease.
Metastatic breast cancer often receives little awareness and CBCN hopes that this report will serve as a wonderful opportunity to provide a necessary voice for every person affected by this disease. We hope that it will help to garner a better understanding of those important needs and challenges.
