The Knowledge Translation (KT) Program at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s Hospital is looking for a full time temporary Research Coordinator I (RC I) for a two year contract.  In this KT practice (rather than science) role, the RC will coordinate the KT and evaluation activities for the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care (CTFPHC). The coordinator should have an understanding of KT and experience in the practice of KT. The position requires working with a large number of stakeholder groups; therefore excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. The RC will need to have a high level of attention to detail, yet be adaptable in a fast-paced working environment. Experience in guideline dissemination and familiarity with clinical terminology is an asset. This position will offer the opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding team environment.

Duties & Responsibilties:

  • Coordinate project activities in collaboration with team (including general project management, timelines, and deliverables)
  • Liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Monitor the progress of project activities; develop and maintain records of project activities and prepare periodic reports as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies
  • Oversee the creation of knowledge translation clinician and patient decision support tools, ensuring quality control
  • Contribute to the design and adaptation of decision support tools
  • Assist with project administration and implementation
  • Disseminate decision support tools nationally by liaising with external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with third party groups to seek engagement and potential endorsement
  • Coordinate participant recruitment and scheduling of interviews and focus groups
  • Maintain data documentation, physical and logical storage of records, in accordance with hospital policies and relevant privacy regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to write and edit presentations, reports, proposals, and publications


  • Bachelors degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Social Sciences (e.g. [medical] sociology, [medical] anthropology, psychology), Epidemiology, Clinical Sciences (e.g. nursing, social work, allied health) or a related field (Masters degree preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of research coordinator experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • At least one year of experience using qualitative textual analysis software (e.g. NVivo)
  • Ability to prioritize and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment  
  • Experience in a healthcare related setting is an asset
  • Meticulous attention to detail and capable of independent decision-making
