Bikeability for School Children, Green Communities Canada Webinar Series

This session is designed to promote action across Canada for elementary age bike education, through informed discussion amongst active school travel practitioners. Presentations of programs in the United Kingdom and Canada will be followed by an opportunity to help strategize national action.

Presentations include:

  • How Bikeability Works in Schools and Fits With School Travel Plans. Presenter: Peter Zanzottera, Cycling Market Leader, Steer Davies Greave, London, United Kingdom.
  • Right to Bike; Where We've Been and Where We're Going with British Columbia's Provincial Youth Cycling Education Framework. Presenter: Kerry Hamilton, Community Programs Manager, Hub for Active School Travel (HASTe BC), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
  • Bike Education Programs in Ontario; Findings and Next Steps. Presenter: Eleanor McMahon, President and Founder, Share the Road Cycling Coalition, Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
  • Guide to Ride for Grade 4 (beginner). Presenter: Sasha Alexov, Physical and Health Education Canada, Ottawa, Canada.
