Health Promoter, Sexual Health Promotion, Middlesex-London Health Unit

The Middlesex-London Health Unit has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Health Promoter on the Sexual Health Promotion Team, within Oral Health, Communicable Disease and Sexual Health Services. This position focuses on promotion of Sexual Health programs and will apply the following health promotion strategies to achieve better health outcomes: education/awareness, skill building, creating a supportive environment, advocacy, policy development and facilitating community mobilization. The successful candidate will apply population health principles and deliver programs, while monitoring and analyzing social research and epidemiological data related to community needs and operational planning. The Health Promoter will guide program planning, implementation, and evaluation, as well as collaborate with public health staff within sexual health and service area, and develop partnerships with community groups and government agencies. This position requires a graduate degree from a four year University program in Health Promotion or a health-related discipline, with post graduate studies considered an asset. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in health promotion, program planning, developing and promoting sexual health campaigns, working in sexual health, and working with community organizations. Flexible work hours are required, as well as a valid driver’s licence and own transportation. The ability to speak French and other languages would also be considered an asset.
