In this webinar, we provide an overview of the eight steps to developing healthy public policy. The steps include:
- describing the problem
- assessing readiness
- developing goals, setting objectives and policy options
- identifying decision-makers and influencers
- building support
- writing and/or revising the policy
- implementing the policy
- evaluating the policy.
As we examine the eight steps, we will highlight the "how" and "why" of each step, and bring the most challenging steps to life with examples. To close, we identify additional resources and tools, and describe our training and consultation services.
- Recall and explain the eight steps for policy development
- Reflect on how the model can be applied to your own work
- Know how to access PHO products and services to support your policy efforts.
