Working to effect change in the lives of others through caregiving, activism and advocacy is both rewarding and inspiring. But over time, being faced with what feels like unending pain and suffering can lead to emotional and physical exhaustion, as well as feelings of hopelessness.
Join us for a practical, effective and interactive workshop that will provide attendees with strategies to cope with feelings of being overwhelmed and impotent in the face of suffering and loss. Led by Valerie Spironello, a social worker and assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University, you’ll learn innovative ways to combat feelings of helplessness, self-doubt, anger and despair caused by repeated exposure to traumatic content.
