The Brant County Health Unit is an accredited community health agency that provides public health programs and services to a mixed urban and rural population of approximately 130,000.  Situated on the banks of the Grand River, Brantford is short drive to Toronto, London and Hamilton.  

Manager, Communications, Brant County Health Unit (One Year Contract)

Reporting to the Executive Director, the incumbent will lead the overall communication strategy required at the Health Unit by the Ontario Public Health Standards and its Protocols. To support program-specific communication initiatives, the incumbent will  co-ordinate and facilitate internal and external communications of Health Unit programs; manage media relations; and consult with management and staff on public relations, communication strategies including management of social media.

Qualified applicants must possess a relevant Master’s degree complimented by at least three years’ experience in a similar capacity. As well, superior oral and written communication skills must be matched by experience developing strategic communication strategies, policies and social marketing campaigns. Experienced project management and supervisory experience is also necessary.   

We offer an attractive benefit package and starting salary range ($81,207 to $84,262).
