The Sustainable Mobility & Healthy Communities Summit 2014, ACT Canada

Toronto/Markham, Ontario
November 30-December 3, 2014

ACT Canada often get asked about what makes the Sustainable Mobility Summit so special - why it consistently gets rating and reviews over and above other conferences. We attribute the Summit's success to four key elements:

  1. Focus on innovation, best practices, knowledge exchange & transfer.
You and your organization are investing a significant amount of time and resources to attend the Summit. We therefore carefully and strategically select the best speakers internationally to bring to the Summit to help you better do your job, for your organization and community. We look for industry trends and strive to build capacity nationally for sustainable mobility & healthy communities.
  2. No product or service promotions.
You're not attending sessions to listen to sales pitches- that's for the exhibit area or private discussions. Our program committee rigorously reviews abstracts, speaker's history and past reviews to ensure that our presenters are providing you with valuable content worthy of your time investment
  3. Inclusivity.
We embrace innovation, collaboration, and information exchange. From young researchers, program innovators to seasoned professionals-we want to learn what's the best of the best. Generally a speaker only presents once and we balance a program to ensure there is no dominating organization throughout. We maximize networking and learning opportunities by including all evening events as part of the core program-no cliques!
  4. Common goals.
All the people attending the Summit as either delegates, presenters, keynotes, sponsors, exhibitors, partners, product or service providers are there for the common goal of building capacity for sustainable mobility and healthy communities. Everyone is relevant to talk to!

The program includes

  • Opening Keynote: Dr. David Mowat, Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health
  • Interactive Workshops:  Transit 101, Integrated Urban Mobility--The New Frontier for TDM & Transit, and Mobilizing Knowledge on Active Transportation
  • Specially designed technical tours: Rapidway Tour or a Walking & Shuttle Bus Tour of the city of Markham
