The Wellesley Institute is a Toronto-based non-profit and non-partisan research and policy institute. We focus on developing research, policy and community mobilization to advance population health.

Job Summary (3 full time positions plus 1 full time contract position)

Our research is applied and aims to investigate promising policy ideas and to test their implementation.  We use the full spectrum of methodologies, including literature reviews, policy analysis and primary quantitative and qualitative studies and work in partnership with stakeholders such as community, think tanks, government and universities.

Key Qualifications

For the three full time positions we are interested in a range of applicants with different levels of experience, from early career researchers with some track record who are looking for a substantive position to launch a career, to mid career or more experienced researchers who are excited by the vision of Wellesley Institute and want to work with our team.

Successful applicants will:

  • Have a relevant degree at least master’s level or equivalent
  • Be able to demonstrate their research interest and productivity in the area of the social determinants of health
  • Be able to demonstrate their capacity to undertake applied research
  • Specific expertise in Wellesley Institute’s current areas of focus will be an advantage but the overall capacity of the applicant to help us meet our long-term goals and vision will be paramount.
